It covers the area controlled from Lime Street signalbox and a large area of the Edge Hill Power Box area, including Edge Hill Carriage Sidings and Tuebrook.
There is a wide variety of passenger services, including Inter City trains to Crewe, Birmingham and London Euston, Regional Railways cross-country services and various local services.
ECS movements are required between Lime Street and Edge Hill Carriage Sidings and a limited number of freight trains, mainly to/from the Mersey Docks and Garston Freightliner Terminal, use sidings at Edge Hill where the loco is run round.
